waste not, want not
Our pet cows Polly and Buttons (their vet calls them lawn-mooers, aw).  Favourite foods: sweetcorn and rose petals.  In this pic Buttons is starting the day with a healthy breakfast of hay and flowers from my stand at the bridal fair last week. A cuter alternative to composting.

flowers in her hair
I think it was Dolly Parton who said something along the lines of “the bigger your hair, the smaller your waist will look”.  Genius. I applied a similar philosophy on Sunday at the Eclective bridal fair.  A big circlet of flowers around my head to detract from the bags under my eyes (very very early morning start).  I’d normally do a hairpiece like this for the little girls but I...

the eclective bridal fair
Yesterday was a fantastic afternoon at The Eclective bridal showcase.  Thanks to everyone who came down to see us.  I had so much fun bringing a little piece of the countryside down to the city.  Boy were my cows happy that I brought all those hay-bales and apples back home again!  All the arrangements from yesterday (see below) were made with flowers grown in South Australian gardens and...

La La La La Love
This late afternoon light makes me come over all languid and wistful, perfect inspiration for this pink posy, Valentines Day-style. It’s this Tuesday and also happens to be my birthday (a nasty one with a zero behind it).  How better to distract myself than with buckets of beautiful garden roses…

summer whites
As the heat of February intensifies and bleaches the colour from surrounding paddocks, white flowers offer soothing relief.  David Austin “Windrush” roses and champagne dahlias mingle with the cool greens of sedum buds. Classic and romantic for a summer wedding.
